COURSE STRUCTURE
1. How to find a voice – When you write, who are you writing to and what is your relationship with the reader?
2. How to find a subject – Why is it necessary to write and what do you have to tell?
3. How to find the form – What is the ideal manifestation of your material and how can a good structure give you momentum?
4. The relationship of pictures and words – Which comes first, the pictures or the words? Creating a dynamic relationship between your text and images.
5. How to write a pen portrait – Drawing on The Gentle Author’s experience, different strategies in transforming a conversation into an effective written evocation of a personality.
6. What a blog can do – A consideration of how telling stories on the internet can affect the temporal world.
SALIENT DETAILS
The course will be held at 5 Fournier St, Spitalfields on 30th-31st October, running from 10am-5pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday.
Lunch will be catered by Leila’s Cafe of Arnold Circus and tea, coffee & cakes by the Townhouse are included within the course fee of £300.

Thanks for showing all these local hairdressers . They were places for men to hang out in . Taxi drivers, local shopkeepers, all manner of people. You could pick up some interesting local titbits whilst they whittled away at your hair. I used to frequent Ginos in Church Street Stoke Newington. A great barber with his son as his protege who later took over. He cut what was left of my dads hair as well. A very timely article as tonight on BBC a new drama series begins on a hairdresser in Ridley Road .
. Your blogging course is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to write. I think it must be the best on the internet .
I remember Kyriacos in Puma Court from the early ’90s when I lived in Brick Lane but think I only got my hair cut there once.
A bit more civility is what we need today.

So, I suppose these places are all now defunct, despite the contemporary look and feel of the photographs? That’s rather too bad, if so. Happy looking places. I’d like to get shorn at any one of ’em, just so I could say I had done so!

‘A London Inheritance’ is a wonderful Sunday morning treat. A brilliant achievement and always interesting and informative. Interested in London then take a look, it’s excellent!
What we needed with these shopfronts were some emerging customers. Then we could gauge whether the charming lack of style and artistry displayed outside continued inside to create wonky haircuts and bizarre colours.
I Loved these pictures of Great Hairdressing stores. They look similar to the ones in Vancouver BC 50 years ago when Mom sent me out to have me look pretty again!!??????
