At The Cinema Museum

It was my pleasure to cycle down to the Cinema Museum in Lambeth recently and meet one of the founders, Martin Humphries, to write a feature for The World of Interiors about the campaign to buy the former workhouse where Charlie Chaplin was confined as a child.

I had no idea this museum existed!! Many thanks for bringing it to our attention.
I had no idea there was such a museum in London. In Basel we have a cinema called the Stadtkino which often has seasons of old movies on celluloid. One of the projectionists owns a tiny 35 seat cinema specialising in showing indie horror and sci-fi, his trade is restoring and recalibrating old cinema projectors. The tiny cinema is his hobby.
Dear Gentle Author, thank you for coming to see us, we loved showing you our museum and would love to share it with others, so everyone, please book a tour or come to a screening – we would love to meet you.
A kind person who saw the World of Interiors article has offered to match fund every donation £ for £ up to £5,000 so now is a very impactful time to donate https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/the-cinema-museum-buy-our-home
Hope to see you all soon, everyone at The Cinema Museum xx
