by the gentle author

Baddeley Brothers have produced beautiful cards designed by Friederike Huber which we will distribute tomorrow at our Celebration of the Life & Work of Colin O’Brien, but I am publishing the programme today alongside Marcus Liversedge‘s film as a taster of what to expect

Thoughts are with those who are gathering to celebrate Colin O’Brien’s life and work this evening.
Have so much appreciated and been moved by his work here in Spitalfields Life and the GA’s books (The London Album, open on my lap). His exhibition film above lets us glimpse the quiet focus of the man behind the camera and his humanity. What a beautiful telling of how the uncle, then his niece, came to view themselves in the exhibition photograph of the baby gazing up at the balloon.
His photographs are a London legacy for people everywhere.
    Thank you
