Viscountess Boudica’s Open House
Rally round our beloved Viscountess in her hour of need!
This coming weekend, Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th June, Viscountess Boudica is opening her home to the public from 1-5pm daily for an exhibition and sale of her drawings at £30 each.
In common with thousands of people this year, Viscountess Boudica had her disability benefit suspended pending reassessment. Meanwhile, the powers-that-be have mislaid her papers and the outcome is that Viscountess Boudica faces a court summons in July for non-payment of £788.17 Council Tax.
As if this were not bad enough, burglars recently broke into the Viscountess’ home and trashed the place, leaving her without a bed and since then she has no choice but to sleep in an armchair each night.
Yet, undeterred by these calamities, Viscountess Boudica has decorated her home to conjure a visual spectacle and made a new outfit to greet guests this weekend.
Viscountess Boudica lives just five minutes from Columbia Rd Flower Market and I do hope as many of my readers as possible will take this opportunity to pay her a visit, admire her outfit and decor, and consider buying one of her wonderful drawings for £30 – so the Viscountess can raise enough cash to stop the court case and get a bed to sleep on.
She is awaiting your arrival.

I concur with GA your readers also the local community must rally around and support this one off lady. Her colourful presence and talent have graced these pages over the years and given us bloggers much pleasure. I have blogged her before, she must be nice she draws cats. It would be kind for a person or a Spitalfields blogger to present her with a single bed, she does live alone. There must be surplus beds in the area. I am sure Viscountess your exhibition and sale will be a great success. We must thank GA for supporting this talented artistic person and perhaps later see the outcome on these pages. John
To Boudica, if you read this, if funds are still required after the weekend the next time you come down to Sclater Street market to visit Clive and Denyse I will give you a donation. good luck.
Oh what a bad luck. I hope that all will become well and that the open house will become a success!
(And also that the Britons will STAY in the damned EU … for we sit everybody in the same boat!)
Love & Peace

A story of villains and an artist who will be victorious!
May every piece of art be sold, may a donor send a comfortable bed, and may Boudica keep smiling.
All best wishes from Toronto!
Greetings from America! GA — is there any way we can donate online? Obviously, I can’t make the open house, but I’d still like to do something…
Cameron and his rotten government should be ashamed of what they have done to boudica!
What a wrench to read that our wonderful Boudica has been vandalized — AND treated ill by the Powers that Be! I’d love to send a small contribution (well, I’d love to send a BIG one, but I have to be realistic) if Gentle Author would perhaps set something up for online contributions. Or even snail mail. She might balk at the idea, but I hope not.
Boudica is SUCH a delight and inspiration. Sweet, spirited, and sweet-spirited. Hats off to her!
Hello Boudica from Maryland, U.S.A. I would be happy to help if there will be an online opportunity to contribute.
Best wishes for a wonderful party.
What dreadful news poor Boudica…I wish I could visit and see your art but unfortunately am not in London..I do hope the open house and sale of paintings is a huge success…wishing you well in the future.
Never met the woman but Boudicca obviously adds a bit of colour to life – happy to make a donation if some collection point is set up.
Dear Boudica
Such sad news!! Unfortunate I won’t be able to attend the open house event. However, I believe that an exhibition might be planned for the future!! Would be possible to buy your Belling triptych online?? Let me know.. Was great to meet you last month..
