A double page spread from the Illustrated London News showing some the works on display at the first annual Exhibition of the East London Art Club at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. The Club’s formation was inspired by the work of teacher John Cooper at the Bow and Bromley Evening Institute. It evolved into the East London Group and continued to exhibit until the mid 1930s Date: December 1928
