My father and mother had a hairdressing shop, Alf’s Ladies and Gents Hairdressers, right next to Lee’s shell fish shop. When I last visited, I believe it was a gift shop. I rememebr every detail of the shop and the house on the same level and above. There was a small yard with a toilet in it. Our customers were largely local dockers and other working class men and women.

More information on request, also please see my book, Cockney Girl. I can also ship it to you.
