I know my ancestors were silk weavers and their surname was Conneau which I think originates in France. I believe my ancestor came over around 1685 to Spitalfields and Bethnal Green. His name was Thomas Henry Conneau. There seems to be many generations of Conneau who worked as silk weavers and John seems to be carried on from father to son.
I would like to find out what region of France they came from if anyone can help.
