fond memories of sidney(tubby) lake who brought a breath of life and fun into a signwriting studio where i was apprenticed in the sixties. he drove us into fits of laughter with his humour and his ukelali and tales of batman outfits and made us sad with the story of his son colin who was wi th the harry wragg stable and could not keep the weight down and then went boxing with tragedy at the end. he made a young man see many things that were important and many that were absurd. i am an old man now with loads of great grand children with lots to tell them about my life and tubby lake was a great influencce on my way of looking at the world. colin, i hope your memories of this zany and wise man , you dad,are as fond as mine. god bless, dave baxter
Hi. I am the nephew of Sidney Lake, cousin of Colin Lake and son of Doug Lake.
Would be pleased to correspond with anyone with any stories concerning this family.
Hi,
I met Colin a few times and have to say he is a diamond. I have a couple of mates who keep in touch with him – Dave Williams and Steve Sheedy. I know he has not been so well of late.
I run a face book page called Archway Revisited and Colin grew up in Rupert Road near Archway. Sure there are a few members who would remember the family

I know Colin, I haven’t seen him in over 10 years but I’m going to go and visit him next week, he’s in what I presume to be home now. I will gladly take him any details you give me, but I can’t guarantee he’ll do anything with the information and he’s definitely not in the position to look after anyone else. Feel free to contact me, Matt
Hi Jacqueline I am a member of the Archway Group
& recently as Rupert Road was being mentioned I decided to look for Margaret & Colin Lake – Margaret & I were very close friends way back in the 60’s
I have located Colin who I believe is unwell & rather frail at present.
I would love to hear of Margaret’s whereabouts & would appreciate any news of her please.
Thank you Jackie
