An illustrious community that lived there in the East End. — He was still a child around 1900, but wasn’t CHARLES CHAPLIN part of it?

When in London…..
What great illustrations of the historical personages who have links with Spitalfields. I’m an occasional visitor from Ireland to London. Until retirement this was purely for business reasons. Now retired I’m making a bit of a hobby of getting to know the good old “Smoke” as an inquisitive explorer. London is almost a country in itself. I’ve travelled widely around the world and would say that this great metropolis is one of the very few that deserves to be called a “world city”. I’m so glad to have discovered Spitalfields and the wider East End of London from a chance discovery of the Gentle Author’s blog. It has enriched me.
