Spitalfields Open Gardens

Six gardens in Spitalfields are open for visitors on Saturday 13th June from 10am – 4pm. Tickets cost £12 to visit them all and you can find details at the website of the National Gardens Scheme.

I too contacted the site, foolishly not having read others’ comments. Rae Hick was very helpful, basically saying what those posting before me have said. Finding where to pay will be obvious.
They do seem alluring gardens, in their hidden quality and their sense of place. Noting that, Rae did say it was a popular event last year so that may affect visit planning.
Lovely, lovely walled gardens but how on earth do the owners prevent snails from eating their hostas? The half open gate looks very inviting, I wish that I could come.

What beautiful gardens. I love the long row house gardens of London. They are magical places. I lived on Weltje Road just down from the Ravenscourt Park and there were so many lovely walled gardens around there that you could only get a glimpse of when you meet a friendly gardener.
I visited these gardens yesterday – so beautiful!
We went to see these gardens (having lived in Princelet Street) ; there is nothing more enticing than a peek through a door or a window to a garden beyond. Your photographs are so much better than mine. My daughter , Romilly, and I loved them all. Thank you for bringing these gardens to us.
