My family ran the ice delivery service to the market traders the ice blocks came from a company called Carlo Gatti in Queensbridege rd, they had a large machine with a drum and teeth that used to crush the ice in varying sizes it was delivered in dustbins on a wheel barrow from Lovat Lane across the road into the market .
