My wife was thrilled to see the photograph of Prince Henry’s House in Fleet Street. She worked here at James Dewar accountants for many years and was probably here when the ‘photo was taken in the sixties. We used to be able to use the balcony to watch the Lord Mayors show many times,a wonderful vantage point.I worked in the City for a German wine shipper with offices in Crutched Friars and cellars in Blackfriars Lane adjacent to The Times offices and printing works.I remember the Nat West Bank office block being built near Crutched Friars which was I believe the first high rise building in the city.
