My forebears were the Pottier family who emigrated from Lintot in northern France to
Spitalfields. I believe you also have Pottier connections. I have traced the family tree back to France – 1684 or thereabouts. You may be interested. Regards.
Your probable ancestor William has been the wedding witness of ancestors Catharine Godfray / Godefroy .and Abraham Paumier, living in Spitalfields, London . They were both calvinists and came from Bolbec and around in Normandy. ” Their marriage was celebrated the 24 of june 1767 in the “Stepeny / Stepney church, Christ Church With St Mary & St Stephen, Spitalfields by Samuel Beuzeville, in presence of William Pottier and Louis Godefroy / Godfray. ”
