My great grandmother is shown as living here at the date of her marriage in 1894
That looks exceedingly like Nichols Square (off Hackney Road ) which I knew very well, loved and where I had many friends till I emigrated to Australia to meet up with some of them (Wilson/Marriner families). I returned later to BG.
Nichols Square was so pretty with lovely gardens full of spring flowers and lilac & was wickedly demolished to make a hideous tower block. I still have pics. I took just prior to and just after demolition. Interested to exchange information. Betty Telford (nee Jacobs) Madley Hereford HR2 9LX 01981 251050
Hi Betty I was born in the square 1951 and like you I was appalled to see all those lovely gothic villas demolished I would love to be in contact with you about the square and see your photos
Regards john
Not Nichol sq houses to small and that view would have been from the old vicarage so the railway would have been in view.
