    Laurie was one of my best friends growing up in the 50s, sadly lost touch over the years, i would like to meet up with Laurie again with my brother Alan , i now live in Southend ,which was one of our favourite places to go on a day trip.thanks for posting .

    Thank you for this beautiful slice of proper old East End story telling and reminiscence. It has reminded me to revisit the A Kid for Two Farthings. I so love The Gentle Author.
