Bob Mazzer On The Tube Today
These days, visionary photographer Bob Mazzer no longer works in a porn cinema in Kings Cross and has moved out to Hastings, but he still takes pictures on the tube whenever he gets the chance. “I love taking photographs of people on the tube,” he admitted to me, “I say to them, ‘You look fantastic, can I take your picture?’ and they say, ‘Yes.'”

wonderful photos. Love your sense of humour.
Love love love the tube and love these snapshots of personal moments on it. Fascinating and beautiful and intriguing… Fabulous. Thank you Bob Mazzer and GA.
Happy to see the shot of the violinist who I used to see performing like one possessed outside the BFI cafe – glad he’s still around. Does anyone know anything about him? Great pictures – great blog!
fabulous series of pics. how much more intimate can you get in public than on the tube and so many do it every day of their lives!
These are great, unusually for me I prefer the ones without people.
Bob, many thanks for these and the others you’ve posted. Reminds me of my time growing up in London: the rush hour, traveling late at night, the itinerant (and often talented) musicians and other performers, the strangely inviting stairs and empty passageways. You’ve certainly caught the types of characters, places and events I remember.
Even without my mislaid glasses I can see these are great photos.
I particularly like the person holding up the big green leaf.
[or is it a badmington raquet?]
Drawn to the picture of the girl being kissed on the cheek by her boyfriend. It’s like they have fallen out and she’s not giving in to him!
Lovely photos that capture what happens on the Tube well! My favourite is the black & white print with the older man wearing a cowboy hat. Very cool 🙂
Terrific set that sits wonderfully with the earlier series great work and brilliant insight.
Brilliantly human photography and a huge treat for any self-respecting Tubophile.
Can’t wait to see your older ones, which I’m off to do now!

Reminds me of riding the Tube on LONDON visits…loved all the characters…
A great series of pictures and I admire Bob for having the nerve to ask if he can take their pictures. The rewards are obvious.
Bob, love these current photos (and the the family album- great pictures!) Your humanity shines through as does that of your subjects.
love these tube pics… shows so much of what london life is!
These are great, would love to follow Bob around for a day to see how he does this.
