I can feel the atmosphere in the streets just looking at these, they’re lovely.

These are particularly paintings which show a strength of personal vision when produced.

He painted my Great Grandpa Curly’s Cafe which was used by Arnold Wesker for ‘Chips with Everything’. Apparently Curly had a waitress called Skinny May who used to shout out “Chips with Everything!”. My brother and I both have a limited edition print of the painting.

Fantastic paintings although I confess I’d not heard of John Allin’s name before – or if I had, I’d forgotten it. Sad that he was treated so badly, albeit he had been in prison. Although I don’t approve of stealing, it wasn’t as if it he’d actually killed anyone! Shame on the bigots, who sadly still exist….

It has shades of Lowry about them, they stand out as socialogical history and well deserved recognition. Forget the ignorant uneducated comments as they were, unfortunatley that’s part for a class that is among us. Fact is, John Allin will go on rememebered with admiration, they won’t.
