When my sister was training to be a nurse at the West London Hospital in Hammersmith in the v.early 1960s, it was compulsory that the first year trainees lived within the hospital accommodation, but from the second year on, she had ‘lodgings’ in Fulham. I clearly remember the Church there, but had no idea these wonderful gardens existed. Another one to add to my list of ‘visits to do’

My knowledge of Fulham Palace as a kid was that it was a place that was out of bounds and behind all the greenery as I passed by on the bus to school along Fulham Palace Road.
