Our new address was 1 Lavender Grove, which was off Lavender Avenue. I had heard of Mitcham Lavender, and although I loved my years in Mitcham and still in touch with several old school friends from those early 1960s days, confess that I never got over the disappointment (I’m exaggerating) of our new address not being surrounded by Lavender fields. I do however have two or three lavender bushes in my current garden.
