On the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Biodiversity Manager is keen to see (some of) the desire paths retained.
The impacted soil, with no grass, provides an ideal habitat for mining bee species (who, presumably, are clever enough to get out of the way of passing pedestrians).

In Bedford Hill, London SW12, Wandsworth Council have sensibly put pedestrian crossings on the natural desire lines.

In the town where i live in Herefordshire, the natural desire line is as the widest part and arguably most dangerous way of crossing over the High Street (being as it is close to the junction of a busy side road), but it doesn’t deter locals.

Occasionally the beginning of something is worse than the end. Either way, I would definitely choose a path that avoids an East London cyclist.

I love this article because it reminds me of in life choices we have and every day decisions are made .
Having been a gardener once in Meath Gardeners Bethnal Green I learnt by watching how people did what they would like even boys shouting teasing comments to the Head Gardener Tom before running off .
