Very interesting!
My daughter lives in Doha, Qatar and there, many businesses - garages, dentists, mobile phone repairs, all sorts - all tend to congregate together in one street. So you have the garage street, the phone street, etc etc.
It seems strange to invite competition that way, but actually it works very well. The businesses know that they have to do good work or you will go elsewhere. Doing good work and providing good value is the only way they have to stand out amongst their competitors.
