What a fantastic trawl through Stepney's rich and varied local history! I love it that so many creeds and classes have been a part of this neighbourhood, helpful to those of us living cheek by jowl in Stepney today with people we might think of as different, but actually are all part of our shared history and as a result of our shared present. Today's city farm workers, the Veteran's Aid charity on the site at the end of Salmon Lane and the church family of St Dunstan's, including the Thursday evening bell ringers and those that organise the annual Big Lunch celebration, continue to be a blessing to us all. Thank you for posting this piece.
