Vivid. Sobering. Lilting. Humorous. Dark. Unfathomable. Uplifting.

Most of all -- human.
What incredible stories!?

PS -- Sit a moment, and imagine what Henry Mayhew would think about the present-day sharing of his interviews and insights? Imagine the man himself, who holds the flowing cascading sheafs of paper, watching us view our glowing screens and instantly replying to the kindred story-telling?
I once read that "stories and compassion are the only things holding us together." It must be so.

Hello, can I draw your attention to a film made in the 1990s called The Fool staring Derek Jacobi. It was made by Sands Films in Rotherhithe who had previously made the two part Little Dorritt.
The characters in The Fool were taken from Henry Mayhew's book and brought to life.
Sands Films is still going - the studios are in an amazing building on a wharf in Marychurch st.
Oliver Stockman runs the film club and is 'I believe' the main contact.
I am sure I am telling you information you already know.
Very best
