Wonderful article and pictures. The most like being there of any article on the service ever!

Of note, some of the songs that Grimaldi used to sing are on this compilation “Tippitywitchet” by the Joey Clowns.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_k7VGOg01bvOQVL4RfiDXCqy1B3K5YJkQ8&si=AlrD-zy5epVr2yHI
Of course, these aren’t recordings of Grimaldi, but it is nice to have the songs Grimaldi sang, much of which had lyrics written by Charles Dibdin Jr. I trust there are more songs of theirs out there.

Have fun at this year’s ceremony!

PS -- I thought the stained glass window was spectacular, so I looked it up online. It is worth while to see the full length window -- quite dramatic, and colorful. A wonderful tribute to clowns, and Grimaldi in particular. I tried enlarging the plaque below, to see who designed the window, but did not have luck. Any details about that, GA? It is a glorious window.

Up with clowns!! I've always loved them. When I was a teen, I belonged to a YWCA service organization and we used to pay visits to the local Senior residence. One year I dressed up like a clown, in a very modest costume from the dime store. I made a lame effort at make-up, and sprayed my hair with something colorful and god-awful. I don't remember much about it, but in my year book everyone inscribed "YOU were the best clown ever!". Somehow I doubt it. But I am glad to have that minor appearance on my resume. So glad to see REAL dedicated clowns in this post, and oh boy they look like such an amazing group. Every one!

Here's to Punch, Pulcinella, Petrushka, Pierrot and Pierrette, et al -- UP with clowns!

I got taken to the circus by a neighbour in the mid 50s, and was scared witless by one of the Clowns. I didn't mind the Coco the Clown type Clowns, it was the Pierrot dressed ones that frightened me so.
