This holiday season we treated ourselves to a performance by a musical group that specializes in lovely &quot;winter&quot; music.........medieval, various ethnicities, traditional, etc.   So evocative.   Just now I recalled how many of the tunes were about larks, robins, and other birds.   I suppose it is part of a holiday &quot;gratitude&quot; ritual to think of these creatures that bring such beauty to our lives.  And how much they are missed during the winter months.
