I was lucky enough as a lad to meet two Hungarian glass cutters Mike and Henry who owned Galaxie Grill in Toronto. They did top notch electroplating, but the secret is all in the preparation. Polishing can be very dangerous, and it’s quite dirty as well. They were ‘old guys,’ and it took quite a time to earn their respect, but as we were crafting bespoke bicycle frames, carry racks etc., ( in the finest English Tradition) well I guess we got some credit for that. I was totally chuffed one day I was standing at a street car stop and a car pulled up. It was Henry, facial scars ‘n all offering me a lift! Here’s to old school trades
