The beauty of it & the communal, shared life-art of it ! I remember the first time, a few years ago, that I came across the mosaic off Shepherdess Walk : going down the narrow alleyway & out beyond into the sunlight of the mosaics : that seemed to offer an alternative better world, but was in fact simply a reflection of what was there & of the people who lived there. Thank you Tessa Hunkin for beautiful shared art in harsh times & to all the people who are part of the mosaics & to the GA for publishing the book, whose launch I was sad to have missed !
