I once knew a woman who had been a refugee three times in her life and said she had survived each time by “planting a garden and learning a new language.” She could feed her family while she made a new home! From creating new soil from food scraps to salvaging usable foodstuffs from fallen fruit and crop spoilage, there is always something new to learn about urban food production.
Sarah Ainslie did a good job of showing how that can work!
