I am enthralled with the beauty of these stately aging headstones, in the midst of the overgrowth.
I suspect many would prefer a groomed, pristine "resting place" that is tended and mowed. But
I find this forest-bound grouping of grave stones to be stunningly beautiful. At a glance, it was like seeing a medieval Canterbury-Tales-esque procession winding its way through the Forest. Some have stopped to languish beneath a tree, some are shoulder-to-shoulder as they process, and
some have paused to lean and converse. So evocative!

As a Girl Guide back in the very early 1960s, the quickest way to get to our weekly meeting was to cut through the nearby Churchyard - which terrified me. However, I learnt to love and appreciate the space, wonderful places where nature can thrive, plus learning all sorts of historical stories too, often triggered to learn more via online search engines etc.
