The focus is very much on conventional writing, even though the intended vehicle will ultimately be digital and the audience, the internet. It is an experience of personal growth and although I had written for money – mostly textbooks, developing a personal style was discouraged. This writing course broke those shackles and gave me the joy and freedom of being able to write from the heart.
The structure is comprehensive, and covers all aspects of writing a blog. The days are punctuated by delicious food and the venue and ambience, inspirational. Prepare to make good friends with your fellow students – we even had an evening soirée in a local pub, which added to the weekend immensely.
The blog-writing weekend was an immense joy, after much sadness in my life, and I remember TGA’s wise words often. I pledged to write a post a week and I have stuck to that since I completed the course. TGA is a wonderful teacher and although modest, TGA should recognise his achievement at changing the face of blogging and encouraging everyone to write, and contribute to the digital, creative space. Everybody has something interesting to say, and TGA will show you this. It is an emotional weekend that reconnects you with your inner self.
Dear TGA, please consider a writing retreat weekend for aluni- I really think this would be more relaxing than a spa. It would tear us away from everyday routines and give us time to talk and write – for me, this was one of the key features of the blogging course that I really enjoyed.
