How I look forward to seeing these terrifying beasties! I love all-things-medieval and goth-like.

Today, I think back to "made by Mom" Halloween costumes in my past, and the sewing sessions when straight pins poked me, and I stood on a chair while she fussed and fitted. The excitement of picking out a Simplicity pattern for a costume, deciding on the fabric and thread, and then the fun outcome. One year we concocted a Brighton-style bathing costume complete with sash and big hair bow, and another time a French-style court dress and frothy wig. I eventually lost the need to look "pretty" for the holiday, and dressed myself as a hobo with rag-bag clothes and burnt cork on my face. Much later in life, my mother and I tackled a big clown costume for my husband John while he and Dad went to a football game. What FUN we had that day, "guessing" at the measurements and yardage; and the resultant clown suit was big enough to fit ALL members of the family! I still have it. It's been worn/borrowed by endless friends and family, and continues to bring chuckles to everyone who wears it. Just climb into the suit, pull up the draw string, add the frilly collar, pop on the rainbow wig -- and you're ready to entertain the world.

Great Halloween memories today, and scary gargoyles furnished by GA. Many thanks.
