I am so glad to meet this gentleman, via Spitalfields Life.
Somehow it pleases me to know that the love of stories and your interest in your fellow citizens brought you into contact with this gent………..even though you do not own a TV. And now I am getting to know about his story, by looking at a computer screen. It really does seem that his story was meant to enter the stream of shared information, enriching all of us. Thanks for making it happen.

My grandad repaired TVs for Radio Rentals, so I was interested to read this – but what a story it turns out to be. As a child in the ’70s I remember bits of how bad the racism against South Asians was, but he’s had a dreadful experience and his testimony and defiant spirit are both so valuable.

My goodness, most of us don’t realise what people from other countries who come to live in the UK have to go through – what a story!
So glad he has made a good life for himself.

I do not doubt his story or his authenticity.

Having known the areas he spoke about .

I like his survival mode .

It had to be otherwise finito .
