I’ve got a fascination for this man, what a life he had, sad that he died so young. My fascination began when I picked up a really old copy of Culpeper’s Herbal for 10 pence in a second hand sale, about 16 years ago. It was one of those jaw dropping moments, I just knew it was very special, and for me it’s the pleasure of wondering how many hands have held it. It’s the Milner edition from 1852, and it’s falling apart, but I’ll never part with it. Truly my special book.
