I was led to believe that there was a burial ground beneath the school where they buried people who died in the plague. Don’t know how true it is

Find your site interesting as my great grandparents and grandparents came from Spitalfields. Gunn St and Paternoster Row. My great grandfather’s name is engraved on a memorial outside Christs Church Spitalfields. Charles Thomas Kenny who was killed at the Somme in 1917 and that’s where I am at the moment paying respects at the Theipval memorial for the missing soldiers

Have a strong connection to Spitalfields as my maternal family all worked in the fruit and vegetable market.
