Dear GA, I really enjoyed these Jack Sheppard illustrations, thank you very, very much! Did you know about the trilogy by American author Neal Stephenson collectively called ‘The Baroque Cycle’, which prominently features Jack Sheppard? Book one is called ‘Quicksilver’, book two is named ‘The Confusion,’ and book three is ‘The System of the World.’ Also included in this trilogy are Isaac Newton, Leibniz, Charles II and the other subsequent British rulers through to George I, along with many other important historical figures, as well as fictional men and women. The action spans the old and new worlds. I could not recommend this work more highly — it is a profound experience for the reader. I hope you’ll give it a try. And also, it is a prequel to Neal Stephenson’s novel ‘Cryptonomicon’, which features fictional descendants of Jack Sheppard, along with Alan Turing and other important historical wartime figures, as well as other fictional men and women. The action spans the entire globe. I think of Neal Stephenson and William Gibson as the greatest living North American fiction authors.
