In 1997 he was here in Kassel to visit the first organic market and to meet royal relatives in the area.

I was fortunate to see the whole Royal Family at the Braemar Highland Games in 1980, and then a second time when they visited Crathie Kirk near Balmoral in September 1982. I can still hear the two elderly ladies shouting: “Look, it’s Prince Charles!”

The Queen Mother waved at me then. Only Lady Diana I never got to see — she was at the funeral of her best friend Grace Kelly in Monaco at that time….
