I well remember Manns Brown ale. It came in a pint bottle and wasn’t that strong. In the late 60s when as a fifteen year old my mates and I were venturing into pubs (quite normal then!) this was the drink you started with. I only realised recently on one of my trips to London that the Manns brewery was next to the Blind Beggar pub in Whitechapel.

Introduced to me by a Scottish friend who was a heavy drinker. Usually, for me one bottle sufficed!

I’ll look out for some now, although I seem to recall it was an acquired taste. Oatmeal Stout sounds interesting.
