I found the perfect shoes and bag for my registry office wedding in a shop down there. It was fabulous for cheap, cheerful but good quality summer dresses to wear for work in the City. I remember a shirt shop that sold cotton polo shirts in all different colours and patterns for 4 quid each, I used to buy loads of them for my husband because he played golf back then. A colleague bought a lovely navy blue hat for her mum to wear to a wedding.

How I miss Petticoat Lane, its bargains and its cheery stallholders.

Like the radio adverts for the Houndstitch Warehouse it immediately brings back post church Sunday mornings to me. My mum had quite a few dresses from Mr Brafman’s empire. So nice to find out more about the behind the scenes operation and Mr Dickinson’s important role in it.
