Suffice to say I am eighty one years old and have been married to a Bengali for fifty five years. We have both been very lucky. His family have always been very kind to me, whatever regrets they might have had about his marriage to an English woman. We are still in touch and all of us hope that the affection and care will continue down the generations.

I am sure Dilruba has been through a hell of a lot of horrible stuff to get to where she is and it’s her innate courage and deep sense of injustice that have got her through it!
I can really relate to her childhood feelings even though I have been through nothing of that magnitude. She is an ally and an inspiration to women everywhere, and to men as well! Big hugs to her!
