Organising a club night or music in a pub with a small hall could be one example. Getting an audience might be easier these days using the Web.

The history of Mrs Thatcher’s and subsequently Mr Major’s intervention in the brewery and pub trade (search for the Beer Orders) to ‘increase competition’ could provide a case study in unintended consequences.
