People stood up and fought and did not run away, hide or cower in the shadows. One can’t imagine the lies and defamation that lurked everywhere during this period. Max was a hero . It took great courage to make a stand even in the Jewish community there were those who preferred appeasement . Where would they be now ?

Each morning I awake dismayed and depressed by the amount of hate and division, often stoked by the media, that seems to run through our country today. However when I read this story it gave me hope and lifted my mood completely. My late father was at the Battle of Cable Street, many of his fellow traders were Jewish and some were close family friends. Thank you again for shining a light on this brave man and his fight against fascism.

I can identify with so much of what Max says.
People have to fight today for better rights as nobody will come to you with a plate as if you was Lord Dunabunk.
If I tried to act like Lord Dunabunk my Mum spike to the young Andy and say, ?”Who do you thinl uou are, Lord Dunabunk?.”
