I know people didn’t want to have strange children filling up their homes and eating their food, but some of the so called foster parents seemed endlessly cruel.

The one thing that comes through is the honrstt and if it eas only yesterday.

At times I couldn’t read it because it reminded me of my old Headmaster saying, “You East End bpys were brought up in the gutter.”

As for Coppers giving me bread and jam. Modt of tge time it was trauma with them.
My mate getting beat up in the Paddy Wagon for kicjonh a tin can down Jubilee st, my mate and I arrested in Whitechapel road for nothing:”You know the score, we got to make the numbers up.

The best I ever got from them was being allowes to sleep in a back room and my kind mate slept on the flpor. We had nowhere to go. That was Kingston Police Station. In the morning kicked out. No breakfast. No tea. Nothing

Reporting to Seven Kings Police station after a man put a flick knife to me in the street.
“You’ll be all right . You can walk up (plus six miles). We’ve got no cars. They’re all out.” No report taken down.

I knew someone ten years ago who had similar before being beaten up by a member of the public and pleading for help.

However, I have met the off coupl of them who offered kindness. My my, that was rare.
