The conditions do sound primitive but, from everything you have posted this week, it is clear the East Enders really enjoyed the hop picking experience. The area around Faversham is lovely. I have family in Kent and like to visit at least once a year. Next time I will raise a glass of Spitfire to the memory of the happy hop pickers.
