It was fascinating to read John Stow's Spittle Fields. and I particularly noticed that in the 1st line of the 3rd paragraph of his survey, he refers to a large field of olde time called Lolesworth, now Spittle Field. We had a cousin who lived in a flat in Lolesworth Buildings within walking distance of Elder Street. So much history in such a short distance. Thank you.

Such a touching story . We really haven't changed much . I have felt the same consolation when looking at very ancient things and contemplating the fact that life goes on . Thank you John Stowe for your time patience and effort in writing your history . May many more follow in your footsteps.
