As an aside, the photo’s of the shops are great, the chewing gum machines outside always bring melancholic nostalgic feelings to the surface. Remembering the gum/ choc/ fag machines in my village in the early 1970s always vandalized and so easy to break into, not by me you understand!
Gone and never replaced, just like your glorious shops of yesteryear. Sigh…
