Your experiences of hiding from the amorous advances of the cast sound like a Feydeau farce all of their own! This brings back memories of a time as a child when some elderly friends of my parents took me and my sister to a pantomime at the National Theatre for a treat one Christmas. They were expecting, i’m sure, a traditional evening of fun for all the family, but this was the Cottesloe and the pantomime was the Hunchback of Notre Dame: there was a lot of running and hiding in the audience, with one player ending up on Vernon’s knee, and, scarlet with embarrassment, we ended up singing a song with a chorus of many ‘bums and tits’. I laugh out loud when I think about it.
