I love this story and the two mug photos that go with it. My partner and myself are currently working on an exhibition of toy theatres (lots of pantomime!) - not sure when it will happen given the times we are living through- and really enjoyed this. It was initial research on the Old Street printers that brought me to your blog and I am still enjoying it as much as the day I discovered it, so a big thank you from the two of us x

I loved reading about your adventures and particularly the notion of your death speech for 'Old King Rat' being immortalised in productions ever since. Your experiences of hiding from the amorous advances of the cast sound like a Feydeau farce all of their own! This brings back memories of a time as a child when some elderly friends of my parents took me and my sister to a pantomime at the National Theatre for a treat one Christmas. They were expecting, i'm sure, a traditional evening of fun for all the family, but this was the Cottesloe and the pantomime was the Hunchback of Notre Dame: there was a lot of running and hiding in the audience, with one player ending up on Vernon's knee, and, scarlet with embarrassment, we ended up singing a song with a chorus of many 'bums and tits'. I laugh out loud when I think about it.

My dear Gentle Author . . . . I enjoyed this story so much, what fun ! look forward every morning to booting up my ol' steam-operated computer and opening your email offering. Love the stories and pictures of Cats - Mr.Pussy (RIP) and Schrodinger. My "quaranteam" is two calicoes and a giant ginger. Hope you are feeling stronger and completely recovered after your dreadful encounter with the evil virus. Best wishes for the New Year !
