How nice to have businesses you can support locally through even these horrid times. I live in Oakland California in a walkable neighborhood with all the necessary shops without having to resort to large supermarkets (which can weather this storm through corporate support, one hopes). However, it seems I notice more and more shops have closed/are at severe risk of closing with every walk about the area. It's hard to remain hopeful. I can only hope my little area survives the winter and doesn't go back to complete shutdown; I fear I'd lose my mind.

Peace to all of you living in my favorite city in the world. Good luck and I hope you stay safe and healthy.

When will this madness end. How many more lives will be lost before things gets back to normal.
Suicide, depression and many other mental illnesses are at an all time high. How many more people will lose their jobs through lockdown, be evicted from their homes, families living on the bread line, the elderly dying of starvation because they cannot get to the shops to buy the essential foods, some elderly have no family members to assist them. Its all very well for the government officials who will still receive a monthly salary irrespective of what happens, the wealthy will still live in a lap of luxury, while the hardworking middle class families will struggle to survive. More people will lose their jobs which will result in more people claiming benefits, where is the government going to get all the extra money that will be required to support all these families. Unfortunately we are living in a evil sick world, run by dictators.
