Also, listening to Adam Lowe on today’s Whitechapel Bell Foundry hearings has been so enlightening, persuasive … and entertaining! He is making a strong case for the viability of the Foundry.

In this whole array of impressive photos, that one grabbed me by the lapels. Wearing their modest paper tags, the extra hands wait faithfully, diligently, and expectantly. On “stand by” in their modest shed, they seem to symbolize all of the workmanlike human hands that make and maintain these magnificent bells.

GA – thank you so much for taking us inside this unique world, and for advocating so strongly for these preservation efforts.
