Please wish Martin White well on my behalf in his brave decision to re-open Crescent Trading after Philip Pittack's death. I admire his courage and fortitude. I enjoyed reading about him again and the photos were wonderful!

Excellent research, as usual. Top marks, well done, Martin!

Might you have any additional info about brother Adrian being the body of Charles Atlas?
Wiki lists Angelo Siciliano, of Italy, then New York: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Atlas

Perhaps advertisements in the UK used Adrian for publicity shots?

Thanks

Can't tell you what these absolutely fascinating articles mean to me. I usually get to London a couple of times a year, but Covid 19 has put a stop to that. I love living in country Australia but I also thrive on my visits to Europe. C19 has happened at a time when I am well aware my future visits are not going to go on forever. I do get a bit of hope when I remember that when I was a flight attendant I loved looking after older people who were passionate and long-time travellers. Quite a few were in the nineties and even just under 100 and doing that long London to Sydney or Melbourne trip. It gets harder as you get older, believe me. It's people who make travel, and I've been lucky in making friends all over Europe. Reading about London and its working population helps to bring the city alive for me. I love the areas that reflect the work and work locations of the middle class and working class peoples of this great metropolis. I have relatives in London and in country England. The backgrounds and working lives of many of them, skilled tradespeople and service professionals in the late C19th and C20th, have fascinated me. Keep it coming!!

What a terrific story. Can’t wait for the TV series of this tale of postwar London life and work. Love to know more about the business of judging quality by eye - what was Mr Myer King’s skill?
