I’ve been to London many times, but I have never looked for these venerable fragments. I probably saw the bit at Tower Hill, when I was nineteen, but there was so much to absorb that I must have missed the significance of a piece of old wall.

They are treasures in a world filled increasingly with dross; I deeply appreciate the opportunity to admire them that you have given me.
